Web Evaluation

The subject I chose for this assignment is elementary school mathematics. The first website I found is called www.mathplayground.com. To begin with the website is current. All the links work and the copyrights are for 2018. The links provided work and take you to things such as interactive games that will help students practice their math skills. This website is also relevant to younger elementary math students. The problems and games available to practice are relevant to what those aged students will be learning and will be able to be incorporated into their math lessons. This websites authority has been confirmed. There is a section for "about us" that users can click on and learn more about the site. In this section I learned who the creator was and about how she is a math teacher. This website is also a ".com", therefore, it is unrestricted.

The next part of evaluating this website was for accuracy. I believe it is accurate. For this site you play games and practice math problems. If students do the problems correctly, and give accurate answers then the site will tell them that. The links that are provided aid them in their practices and are reliable sources to practice their skills with. Finally, this site has a clear purpose. It is factual and is to be used for educational purposes. This site was created to help students improve their math skills and is a website that teachers could use to go along with their lessons. Overall, I feel this website passed the C.R.A.A.P evaluation test.

The second website I found and evaluated was for elementary mathematics as well and is called funbrain.com.  When you go to this website they have a specific area designated for math. On this site there are different games that allow you to practice different skills and each one lists the grade levels the game is aimed at. The website is current, the date listed is 2018 and all the links work. It is also relevant. The website has a purpose and considering its intended audience, it will be relevant to teaching them what they need to know.

Funbrain's authority is confirmed. The website is a ".com" making it unrestricted. There is an "about Funbrain" section where you can learn about the website, its purpose, and links to learn even more are provided. This website has reliable accuracy. It's privacy policy protects users and the information students learn from playing the games is reliable. The answers are correct and it does not give false information to students and teachers. The final part of the C.R.A.A.P evaluation for this website is its purpose. The purpose of this website is to help educate students. My evaluation focused solely on the mathematics section of the website, but from my observation I find the site to be very reliable. All aspects of the C.R.A.A.P evaluation are met and as a future educator, I could see this site being beneficial to my students.
